Miramar 6-foot-8 forward Orane Chin, who was a first-team Class 6A all-state selection, verbally committed to the University of South Florida, Miramar coach Ken Kelly said.

He will become the first signing for new USF men’s basketball coach Stan Heath.

As a senior, Chin averaged 25 points and 14 rebounds. He also said he considered Kansas, St. Joseph’s and Virginia.

Kids on our current roster picked us over, using your criteria, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, Va Tech, UConn, Florida, Boston College, Illinois, UMass, WVU, GWU, Penn State and Pitt.

Chin will be the 7th 3 star recruit on our roster next year. The other 6 were recruited by the other coach.

DBAD, gentlemen.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
