A Look at Rutgers Baseball

Rutgers currently sits atop the Big East with a 9-3 conference record, and a 20-14 overall record.  Good news is that they are 10-13 away from home.  They seem to have beaten up on the really bad teams they've played while good teams give them trouble.  Here is a breakdown of the shedule with results.

You have to like our chances heading into this weekend.  As far as their league play is concerned, they have played bad teams for the most part with the exception being St. John's.  I'm not saying we'll sweep them, but 2 out of 3 should be attainable.  We just need to play our brand of baseball and continue with solid starting pitching and we'll gain ground on the league frontrunners.

Also of note, they are 2-6 against Florida teams.

This weekend is huge for the bulls.  Win 2 out of 3 against Rutgers, UL, and St. Johns and we may be wearing our first Big East baseball crown.  

I agree that it looks as if Rutgers hasn't played well against good competition.  Hopefully everything will gel for this team down the stretch.

There are 18 games left...they include a series with Rutgers, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and St. Johns. Plus a Tuesday night game at UCF and vs. #30 Stetson (30-10).

If we pull off 10 to 13 wins, we should make the Tourney with an at-large bid
