Guys, Alvarado is going to be the man this year. Mark it down. He has confidence, experience, and a hell of a leg. He will be a Groza finalist before his time at USF is over.

injuries?

backup?

will this "cut us off at the knees" (pun intended) as we make a push for the top 25.

Most teams do not have two solid kickers. If Alvarado were to get injured, we would just have to alter the way we play. 4th and 3 from the 30 will be a a situation in which we go for it. Quite frankly, I like that style of play anyway.

Too early to really worry about the kicking game ... went pretty well in the Spring. Don't pin all your fears on the final "practice".

Go BULLS !!!

i can't WAIT for the summer. I always took them off and came down to Fl- but it will be my first midwest summer and I can't wait! The only draw back is that I will be teaching a summer class - thats 4 hours I could be spending outside 4 days a week  >:(

Man, some people will b**ch about anything.  This USF team is by far the deepest, most talented team we have ever had.  We have a stud QB, an awesome D, brought in a 5 star RB, and finally some depth at almost every position.

The kicking game is not just about the kicker - a few sane people brought up the fact that the longsnapper didn't play in the Spring game.  How about waiting to judge things until the whole unit is together?  If you follow USF football, the kicking game has historically been solid.

Chill, people and appreciate all the positives!

You do realize that a poor kicking game can cause a big fat L for us, right?

It may have been historically solid, but explain last year.

Use the historical data to have some faith in the coaches.  The whole unit was not together for the Spring game, so the kicking game cannot be accurately judged.  Plus it was only one game.

Last year was the result of losing senior Brandon Baker and transfer Kyle Bronson which left all new inexperienced kickers, mostly freshmen.  They should be better this year and let's wait to judge them until the entire unit is together and they are healthy.
