I just don't see it being as bad as last year.

We know our O & D will be stronger which I hope translates into not even counting on FG's.

But we do need BIG improvement over last year. Word around the campfire is that the Kicking wasn't nearly as bad as what we saw during the Spring game. And remember, we had starters out.

You didn't see anything because the only good field goal kicker we have was not playing. Imagine what you would think of our QB situation if Grothe didn't play.

Punting will be an issue. However, as long as we threten with the fake punt when Teachey goes Rugby style, it forces the return team to stay honest and usually results in a net of 35 to 40 yards on the punt.

If we can get Petrov to stay focused, we should let him punt.  He's got about 20 yards on Teachey, as well as excellent hang time.

I think our kicking problems lie with the longsnapper...sure, the longsnapper doesnt shank kicks, but if we have someone who can consistantly put the ball where it needs to be it's one less thing the kickers need to think about. Last year the longsnapping was horrible and in the spring game it didn't look so hot either.

I forgot to mention that we also have 3 top ranked programs: Education (49), Communication Studies  (10) and Psychology (6 or 7) - plus a kick A$$ location AND a great football program.

So take that ivy league.
