Atkins would welcome return to Orlando

If the Orlando Magic decide to change point guards for next season, NBA veteran Chucky Atkins will be the first one standing in the audition line this summer. Atkins, 32, is in his eighth NBA season after playing at Orlando Evans High and the University of South Florida. He started his NBA career with the Magic (1999-00) after not being drafted and playing in Europe.

This is his second season with the Memphis Grizzlies, and he becomes a free agent after this season.

If Chucky came back to play for Orlando, that would be the greatest thing! I love the MAGIC and hopefully he could then be somewhat active in the BULLS rise in the Big East. Even if he doesn't go to another team, I'm sure there is always a spot for him somewhere in USF Athletics.

I can see it happening if the Magic don't make a run at Billups. Next year they return Jameer Nelson, Carlos Arroyo, and Keyon Dooling (who plays both 1 and 2).

I'd love to see it, whether they go in that direction remains to be seen.

As I recall, Billups is the one that made Chucky expendable in Detroit.
