This is the worst news of the Spring Game.  It's always a shame when someone gets injured in these games.  Matt will be a huge loss in the middle of the line.  Let's hope he makes a full recovery.

concur-- he was having a fine showing in the Spring game (see the series of shots of him shutting down Selvie one play when I isolated on the two of them). hoping for the best

Anyone know exactly what the injury is?  Greg said:  "Huners tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, but he'll have more than four months before USF's season opener against Elon on Sept. 1."  I googled that injury and found this:  "How long will the athlete be out of action?

   * This largely depends on your surgeon or physiotherapists approach to rehabilitation. Some therapists advocate an accelerated rehabilitation programme returning the athlete to full competition within 5 months, others prefer a 9 month rehabilitation period."

That would mean anywhere from September to January (does he have a redshirt year?).  I know someone else said he also hurt another ligament.  Oh, and this timetable is based on the need for surgery.

Word around the campfire is that he out for 2007  :'( and will be seeking a Medical RS.

Wishing him a 100% recovery and hoping for 2 more years.

Also hoping one of the 2 new(True FR) OT's or Canrnes step it up.

I feel very good about our Interior 2 Deep, just worried about depth at tackle.
