if you're in 941 area code, a call of 'thanks' to sports editor Scott Peterson will pay dividends in the fall.

That is a great story. It's encouraging hearing that Ford is feeling more confident and the rust is getting knocked off. I can't wait for the spring game!! I hope he is the type of player that shines during game time because he doesn't seem to be living up to his expectations in practice; he isn't a let down either.

Either way our RB situation is better than ever because they are all competing with eachtother for the spot. We all know that causes the 'sink or swim' effect and players that can swim will improve more drastically then when they don't have the competition.

At what point did everyone know that Andre was the real deal? How would you compare the spring hype/performance of Andre vs. Mike or our other RB's?

I don't really recall a great deal of preseason hype when Andre came in.  I think everyone was worried because we just lost Fisher.  It took Andre a few games to get going.  Then he emerged big time.

"Hargrave makes you a better person because it's hard and very disciplined. It taught me how to be organized," Ford said. "I am OK with being down on the depth chart. I've got to earn whatever I get. I am a little rusty and lacking some confidence, but it's coming back. I can feel it getting better everyday. Whatever happens, happens, but I am looking towards the future."

I love that attitude.  Hopefully we see some flashes of brilliance early, to get his confidence going.

Guest BasketBull.

Hear me now, listen to me later: Ford is going to be special at USF.

When I saw Grothe for the first time during a scrimmage last year, I knew our QB problems were over.

I've seen Ford this year. He's going to bring it next season, maybe at Auburn!

i hope he runs all over Auburn and they leave themselves saying at least we only have to face him once and not four times.

That would be pretty bitter sweet for Alabama ... they'd love seeing Auburn get stomped, but they'd realize they lost a back that could have done it for THEM.  ;)  Hopefully it works out that way...and if not, hopefully one of the others stomp Auburn.  ;D

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
