Wags, I was just watching the replay of the WVU game and they showed the bench players all pounding their fists into an open hand (from the looks of it) , when Conso had a 3-2 count and a couple of guys in scoring position.  What exactly is that?  

The announcers were confused too, but they said everybody has the right sign as every player was doing it.

its just a rally thing....

kinda like taking your hat and shaking it like you are mining for gold or something....

i dont know if they have a specific chant for each player or not...but i noticed that too when i was at the game friday.  they were doing it the whole at bat.

Heh, we came up with a few different things... maybe it would be a good idea to divulge such 'rally' implements so that we can get fans doing them as well. Home field advantage?

2-2-2 count --> rub the hat brim while the pitcher is taking the sign, shake it upside down in front of you while set, and flip it over in front of you while the pitch is in the air. and if the ball is foul near a line, you flip the hat the opposite direction the next time to coax the ball fair  ;D

3-2 counts --> "knuckle-up" it's a reference to a rap song (or several) and is meant to show it's time to battle, time to fight. we also use this during our pre-game chants..

if you haven't been there early enough to watch yuri and rowe do the pre-game chants out in left field after infield, that's quite a spectacle to watch...

Haven't noticed those.  The last couple Saturday games I've been to have been in the pavillion, so the beer might have something to do with not catching the pregame hype.

If someone can tell me how to post video files, I captured Yuri doing this at Notre Dame a couple weeks ago...its HILLARIOUS!

Wait a second, I think I did see something when we hosted Pitt a month ago.  I did see Yuri running around the circle of players prior to the game, but didn't catch what he was saying or what else was going on.
