Man, if practice isn't at least a little fun for the players, they're screwed.  Remember the roots of this sport.  He didn't do it in a game, he's having fun with people who are hopefully his friends.  The only way its a problem in my eye is if it slows down the drill.  It probably did, and he was wrist-slapped accordingly.

I wouldn't call the guy an idiot, he's a kid that made a mistake from which he will learn.  Reminds me of the time in high school when, with a double-double (18p-12r) I took a pass and tried going around the back as I went through the paint and fumbled away what otherwise would have been an easy shot.  Benched me the rest of the game.  We still won, but I got the point.  Sometimes youth happens and when it happens imitating another player's on-field antics, it's a lot less painful than the off-field antics.

This hardly deserves our attention.
