I believe Ford lost a year of eligibility when he went to military school. Therefore redshirting him would only lose another year.

ford has 4 years eligibility.  the military academy doesn't count towards ncaa eligibility.

Ford is getting all the hype, but i got a feeling about Aston Samuels.....this kid is gonna have an impact in one way or another. Unfortunately, not sure where Ponton fits in.....Bethune-Cookman????

speaking of BC....what were the names of the 2 guys that transfered from USF to there?  how did they end up doing

There's actually been a handful of guys to transfer to BCC after not getting into starting roles at USF.  I think josh balloon was one of them, but i'm sure somebody else knows who.

Back to Ford:  It sounds like he's making progress.  He's certainly coming in with the most potential out of all of our RBs, but it's going to take some time to get back in FB shape and learn the offense.  Leavitt is going to give Ford a serious shot because of his potential.  Anybody remember a QB that came in as a huge prospect that was basically handed the starting job (over a Sr and another great fr QB)?  

Also, he's one of only a few new faces.  All the other new faces won't show up until summer, so he's in a unique situation out there right now.

Ford will need the summer workouts and then fall practice to get into football shape.

He really doesn't need to make a statement until the Auburn game.

I heard that Ford rushed for 65 yards on 11 carries and a td during last sat's scrimmage. Word from spring practice is that he is a hard-nose runner who punsishes the first defender of contact and then he goes downhill (in a good way) from there. I think there's going to be a heavyweight fight between Ford and Samuels for the starting spot.
