What does it take in terms of wins to get to the post season?

ChiTown, we'll need 40 wins just to be mentioned.  That isn't a given we get to the postseason.  The only given is if we win the Big East Tourney in Coney Island.

The Top 8 in Big East standings make the Tourney in Brooklyn and then after that I think the Tourney winner is guaranteed a spot in the Road to Omaha, but I'm not sure.

64 teams make it.

Seeded nationally 1-8 get to host regionals. Then the top 8 winners from the Regionals get Super Regionals. Winner of the super reegional gets a trip to Ohmaha.

I don't think USF has made it there, but I'm not huge on USF baseball history.

Typically the Big East is a 1-2 bid league, so winning or at least finishing in a clear second is imparative.

The only teams we've played relevant nationally have been Florida (recently ranked), Stetson (Leading A-Sun), and WVU. We then have Rutgers in a few weeks, who is a decent team and Georgia Tech (who is not having a GT type year)

Just keep winning!

There are 16 regional series (4 teams per region).  The winners of the region go on to the Super Regional.  There are 8 super regional (16 teams) and the winners of the super regional go to the CWS (8 teams).

I believe USF has made it to the Super Regional before (final 16).

USF has never made the Super Regional level, but that was instituted about 5 years ago.

Before, the field was 48 deep and there were eight 6-team regionals held. USF was the last team out a couple of times, I think, and the third team a couple of times. That's not bad considering the Bulls were usually no better than a 3 seed...

That format was particularly weighted to the home teams.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
