in the big east its going to be tough to make the post season.

pretty much have to win the conference or have around 40 wins.

big east is not the same powerhouse in baseball as it is in basketball.

I'm pretty sure the best we can do is 35 wins. Still plenty of conference games remaining.

I'm not sure I understand what your saying.  Do you think we'll only get 12 more wins or do you think it will only take 35 wins to get to the NCAAs?

Sorry. That's if we win all the remaining games (if I counted right). 40 isn't possible.

Starting tonight, 24 games remain on the regular season schedule.

Getting to 35 means we go 12-12 down the stretch and that won't get the job done.

The reality is that the Big East is not perceived as a good baseball conference and it is probably a 2-bid league at best. The only sure spot goes to the conference tournament winner.

According to stats expert Boyd Nation, Louisville's simulated RPI is 40 and we are 47. But Stetson ranks ahead of Florida State on his simulated formula list right now. And while baseball RPIs are not the sole factor in determining postseason, they are important. Since we will be playing lots of conference games against teams with sub-100 RPIs, we will need to play very well in the Tuesday night games and we must do well when Georgia Tech comes to town.
