Shoot, if I were them, I'd go over seas.  You'd have plenty of money to come back as much as you wanted and it's not like you can play forever.  By the time they are in their mid 30s they'd be done anyway.  At least this way they can actually retire if they want if they invest properly.

I agree though I think they should be making more than that.  The NBA pays WAY WAY WAY too much, but I think somewhere between 100 & 300 thousand is reasonable for these ladies.  Oh well, I wish we had a team here...

Unfortunately the NBA has always been against using their teams as marketing tools. Several years ago the Memphis Grizzlies wanted to change their name to the Express, in relation to FedEX based in Memphis.

This holds true to the WNBA and well it has lost over a Billion dollars since its inception. Overseas, they use these teams as marketing opportunities and sell a lot in advertsing off of it. There just isn't the money or fan support to pay that much right now, unfortunately. Maybe one day, but not now.
