Rate the Day

How does this day rate as an All Time Great USF Day?  Its gotta be pretty high I would think.  First we announce the hiring of our next basketball coach after a long and sorted search.  Next we pummel our next door neighbor in a huge baseball game.  I'm not sure where I'd put it, but I think it makes the Top 50.

So far for 2007, I'd rank this one number 2 or 3.  The only day that might have been better was when we beat ND in hoops.  They were ranked at the time so its a no brainer to have that one above this one.  Signing Day was a pretty good day too, so that might be the second best.

It's certainly up there, especially for those of us who have been around a long time and watched this basketball program for years. Coach Heath has proven himself and done so in a major conference (even his 1 year at Kent State was pretty darn impressive). It's also nice knowing that his coaching lineage traces back to Tom Izzo, who is one of the best in the business. It doesn't hurt that he has to have an enormous chip on his shoulder right now and that will make him more successful. He has to be laughing knowing that Altman is going back to Creighton.

I'd rank it second behind the ND win ... and only because of the Heath factor. Beating up on your little brother should carry no weight in determining the importance of a day...

I rank it as a great day, dont have a number, but I was at the press conference and the game, which I talked to Tino for about 5 minutes after. So a great day!
