ALTMAN BACKS DOWN?

After just one day and a big celebration press conference, word has gotten around town that Creighton coach Dana Altman has decided not to become the next coach at Arkansas. Reasons are not yet clear as to why Altman changed his mind, but fan reaction, change in scenery after 13 years and a number of other things could have played a factor.

wow...really sucks to be an arkansas fan right now.  first they fire a good coach because they think they got a better one on the way with the guy from Texas A&M.  then they scramble to find a guy, hire a guy from a mid major and get turned down by him after it was announced nationally that he took the job.

yea, this might be enough for Beverley to jump ship.

lets hope he just doesnt try to jump into the NBA.  cause i dont think he would get drafted.  winning SEC freshman of the year is nice, but he could really use another year.  Does he have a sick grandmother in Tampa that he can use for a waiver from having to sit out a year?

Sounds like the same thing that Gregg Marshall pulled on Clemson a couple years back.  I guess that some of these mid-majors that enjoy some success and have the opportunity to move up get a bit nervous about jumping to the big time.

It's not just mid-majors, Bobby Cremins did it, and Rick Majerus did it.  Someone should tell these clowns to think about it before they say yes.
