The Oracle has been **** for like three or four years now, and even when it was good (and it was VERY good for a college paper for about a decade), it's sports coverage wasn't great.

But crap like today's sports section is indicative of how incredibly far a once-great newspaper has fallen.

Umm 3-4 years??? When I was in school (more than 3-4 years ago unfortunately) it was nothing more than a PR outlet for the administration. When I worked in student activities and student government - they consistantly misquoted me and my collegues and constistantly spun things in an unflattering light. Now this is ridiculous. It looks like it has gone from bad to worse.... :-/

I work at a big 10 school (I'm a professor there) and this kind of crap would NEVER happen there. These people need to take a class on professionalism ---another one in the journalism department --- AND get some school spirit while they re at it.  >:(

I'm looking at it now.

The Heath story is on the front page, which is nice. But the lizard story has a big-a$$ headline in the back and a 1/2 page-color photo. The story is from the Associate Press, but the arrangement of everything, including the photo is cleary the work of a foul lizard among us. >:(

the sports section consists of a small article about the baseball team at the bottom of the page, and above that a HUGE Article about uf winning with a picture of two players, one doing the comp...yeah the uf article had to be completed on another half of a page, while the baseball story for tonights game was just on the back alone, nothing else...thats horsecrap when we are playing ucf a rival in BASEBALL ONLY.

the fact that the gators winning was even in the paper is just plain STUPID.

it is a USF paper.  why cant they devote that space to something about USF.

you think when we win a national title we will have a write up in the UF paper?  doubt it!
