One thing I find disturbing about

the way the NCAA tournament played out this year is the way the CBS crew and other media talked about the officiating.  When Oden got two quick fouls Saturday night Billy Packer went into whining mode about "letting em play."  On Sunday, the Sports Reporters on ESPN also ranted about letting the stars "play the game."  That is so much bullsheest.  A foul is a foul no matter who commits it.  Heck, if I were playing against a guy like Oden, I would try to get him in foul trouble.  That would be my strategy to win the game.  Now we have the announcers telling officials to give certain players special treatment?  Here comes the NBA down to college.  As soon as this becomes prevalent, I stop paying attention to college hoops.  No player deserves to be 'protected' by the officials.  And last night, Oden had to commit assault with bodily harm to get a foul called on him.  I believe all the national pub about the two quick fouls on Sat, night affected the officials or those who control them.  This kind of stuff is as insidious as when a game is fixed by gamblers.  What's next?  No more George Masons because CBS wants high ratings and only high profile teams from major conferences in the Final Four?  Don't laugh, we aren't far from it.
