Sorry, can't get real excited about a coach from Arkansas that got fired. This is simply a, hope for the best and see what happens, signing.

Coach K wasn't available .... ANY hiring was going to be a "hope for the best and see what happens, signing."

Hog fan here... Congrats on hiring Coach Heath!! Couldn't ask for a classier guy and he will represent your school well, very very good recruiter. I personally was sorry to see him go, I wanted to see what he could do with the seniors he had coming back.  I can't speak for the Northern part of the state but I know in Little Rock the opinion expressed on the talk shows and such was pretty much in agreement with mine give him another year.   I wish you guys the best.  I know I will be keeping up with what you guys do!!!

After watching the Rays lose on opening day, this was the exact type of news I needed to cheer me up.  ;D

Heath was the guy I wanted from the time he said he was interested in the job.  It is also nice to see that we can spend almost $1 million per year on a basketball coach.  :o

the bullpen is once again atrocious!  hopefully these guys figure it out.

oh yeah, Heath, good hire.  looking at his record in another thread he definetley helped arkansas get better year after year, in a tough conference.  hopefully he knows we're in the big east, and can do the same here.

The Red Sox getting blown out makes the loss easier to swallow.  I hate the Red Sox more than the Yankees.  But, the Yankees winning is never a good thing.  The best thing that has happened the baseball is the Yankees not winning a World Series over the last 7 years.

Congratulations.  You got a good man.  He should recruit you some talent and be a good ambassador for your program.

He is the epitome of class.  He could have said a lot of things about Arkansas and being forced out but he stuck with classiness.    He said he didn't want to be called "nice" anymore but hopefully he won't mind "classy".

Sorry, that's not true. With a team like USF - who has been to the NCAA tourney 2 times in a bagazillion years, a guy like Heath is probably the best you can do. However, there ARE coaches out there that turn programs around no matter where they land.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
