Bulls Win Again, Now 21-8

How 'bout that baseball team?  Team took out some frustration on Uconn pitching today with 16 runs and 20 hits.  Everyone contributed offensively, including a home run from nine hitter Brad Karns.

Danny Otero took care of things on the mound, with a complete game and nine strikeouts.  My guess is that he threw over 130 pitches in the game.

Bulls now go to 21-8 on the season and 5-2 in the Big East.  Bulls and Huskies face off again tomorrow at noon in Storrs.

Where do we stand in the BE standings? I check the website often, but I never know when they get updated. There are a couple of 3 - 0 teams there that are at the top of the standings.

They tend to update them daily but every Sunday is when they officially do it.

Due to livestats not updating the pitching fields, Otero did not throw a complete game.  He pitched 7 strong innings, while reliever Matt Wagner aka 'Wags' pitched the final two innings for the Bulls.

I had a feeling he didn't go the distance in that game.  It just took too long and I'm sure his pitch count was way up there.

If Prado builds this program up like he wants to (new stadium, etc) , I could see him staying until he retires.  He has strong ties to the area and it basically would become a dream job for him.  For anyone that ever goes to the games, his Dad is always down the left field line in the pavillion.  You can't miss him.  

This could end up being as good of a hire as Jim Leavitt in the long run.

Daniel Thomas still must be nursing an injury as Chris Delaney got bumped up to the Saturday start, and Yuri Higgins has the Sunday start.  Hope he gets healthy, as we'll need him down the stretch.
