Enjoy going to games while you can guys.  You never know when you'll have to leave the area and then be stuck to follow the team through a message board bc they aren't "covered" where you live.  I'm stuck hearing about nothing but Bama and Auburn along with other SEC schools so I feel the pain every day as they joke about the "Big Least" and how USF is a joke bc we have no fans.  The only way you change that is by getting involved.  If people can't do it, then you'll be catching crap from FSU, Miami, UF and others every time you want to talk about USF.  So get people excited and drag them out to games with you.  Chances are they'll like it and you'll make a new fan.  Lord knows we could use a few more...

I follow and appreciate JoeB's posts.  I just don't respond much.  That doesn't mean it's not appreciated.  But you are right, it won't hurt to give the Team some props.  I'm more excited about USF baseball than I have been in years, and Lelo will get them to the CWS.  If not this year, then soon.

Just guessing here, but I'm thinking we need to finish in the Top 2 in conference to go to the NCAAs.  I have no basis for this just a gut feeling.  There are plenty of good teams out there that will have padded records so we'll need to climb up the Big East rankings to secure a spot.

What does a conference title guarantee us (if anything)?

Winning the conference probably gets us into the tourney out right.  I'll have to check who are automatic qualifiers.

I was only able to find that winners of the 29 Division 1A Conferences receive an automatic berth.  So only 35 others receive at large bids.  Judging from the strengths of the SEC, ACC, Pac 10, Big 12, and Conference USA it will be very hard to get an at large from this group.  That loss to UF could really come back to bite us, so we'll have to take care of business the rest of the way, and expecially against Georgia Tech.

We've been to 4 or 5 games this year and followed the aways on the net...we're big BaseBull fans this year.  Get involved!
