Winthrop wants to keep him for life. Apparently, they want to name the new floor after him or something like that.

He's been linked to and has interviewed for various jobs over the years, almost taking the one from last year. It wasn't even a major conference. The guy wants to leave. The question is when and where.

Basketbull, Winthrop averaged 4,000 fans for its home games last season, so it's a pretty comparable following to what USF had.

As far as the no offer, I think it's standard practice to do the "if you were offered a package like this" hypotheticals, that way USF can say the job hasn't been offered if he walks away, and he can tell winthrop fans it never got to the extent that he was offered the job ...
