Earlier today I wrote in this space that Marshall informed Woolard Friday he was removing his name from consideration for the USF job. I based that on what I was told by individuals that I have trusted and relied on for some time. They were wrong and so was I for reporting that in this blog. There was conflicting information and I apologize if I misled anyone.

Well it looks like Brett is not out to print negative stories about USF every chance he gets.   ::)

Can we stop with the conspiracy theories about the Tampa Tribune having an axe to grind with USF?  Go watch The X-Files on DVD if you want some conspiracy theories.   :P

Again, what else was he supposed to do? He got burned by his "source" and it came back to bite him badly.

There is no conspiracy theory. The tone of Brett's articles changed the day the St. Pete Times became the official paper for USF.

Wrong, it just looks like he was so eager to print one that he didn't double check his sources
