In another development:

• South Alabama's John Pelphrey has talked with South Florida athletic director Doug Woolard, but he has developed into a backup candidate of sorts for the Big East school. According to a source, Pelphrey was never made an offer for the job, and he's not certain he'd accept it anyway. As it stands, Winthrop's Gregg Marshall appears to be South Florida's target, but he has a history of flirting without moving. If that happens again, Pelphrey should return to the picture along with former Virginia coach Pete Gillen and former St. John's coach Fran Fraschilla, among others.

I have to agree. Plus he has major conference experience. He will probably get the job if we don't get Marshall signed SOON

Eh. I dunno if thats true. He withdrew from Ole Miss and UAB when he was the leading candidate last year. Either he loves USA or he is waiting for a better job.

This bugs me because MArshall is not a sure bet yet, his name just surfaced with Utah. Pelphrey was our second choice.
