Two vacancies filled

Both Illinois schools with coaching vacancies have selected their new hoops coaches.  Northern Illinois hired former Colorado coach Ricardo Patton.  That is probably a good hire for them.  Illinois State will announce today that top Kansas assistant Tim Jankovich will be their new coach.  Usually when schools start to hiring, a domino effect occurs where other schools quickly settle on their guys too.  I hope we get our situation straightened out soon.

Today is the last day to put in resumes for our position --which I need to do ASAP!  

I'm hoping for an announcement this week or at least by the end of next week. If it goes into April, all bets are off, and we will have no idea of the choice made.

I disagree. Utah (750-800k), Michigan (900k), Minnesota (950k), and possilby New Mexico (600k) and Colorado (780k)all are going to be willing to spend more on a basketball coach than we are.

I just don't know if the money is there to spend 800k on a coach and invest into some much needed facility/recruiting/luxery expenses.

Right now I'd put USF, New Mexico, and Colorado in that 2nd tier of coaches.

The hot rumor today is that Winthrop's Marshall is being offered a 600-700k salary from New Mexico. Apparently he's going to take it.
