This is Sports Sound Off

Pelphrey has power to force move -- I have to agree with the caller that the Jags need to get out of the Mickey Mouse league, and fast. John Pelphrey probably now has the power to force this change on the powers that be at South. In order to win a national championship, you have to play competition on that level. USA showed the entire country just how good their basketball program is and how talented Pelphrey is. ESPN announcers pointed out that South is a solid program but never gets to play competition like Syracuse in January and February because they are forced to play the Denvers and Florida Atlantics of the Sun Belt. Conference USA or the Big East is a perfect fit for South.

Winthrop's win the best there is -- Alabama bombed out of the NIT, Arkansas got slaughtered in the NCAA, but little old Winthrop whipped up on the Fighting Irish from Notre Dame. It doesn't get any better than that.

Did that article just try and make a case for South Alabama as a legitimate Big East school?

no, it makes the case for Pelphrey to be a Big East Coach.

No, i don't read it that way... it says Big East is a perfect fit for South (South Alabama), and Pelphrey can influence South to change leagues.

Yeah, I think they let fans write-in with comments...scary.  Good thing the Orlando Sentinel doesn't allow such shenanigans.

SOUND OFF IS CRAZY!!!!!  Trust me.  Half of the comments are barbs back and forth between Bama and Tiger fans even when football season is nowhere near being played.  Though I admit, Sound Off does make for fun reading, but in no way is anywhere near legit news or opinions of anyone important.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
