I hate to be the voice of reason here because I liked having Howie on here as much as most of the people on here did.  However, Howie is a big boy and he decided to leave.  You have to have thick skin on here and Howie felt it was better for him not to post anymore than deal with the criticism.

I don't think it had to do with "Dealing with the criticism", rather that it was with dealing with immature people in general.

WHOA THERE APIS........Howie was starting to be disenchanted with a lot of the posts long before he left the board, not because of criticism.  He is far from thin-skinned, and I know that better than anyone.  And yes, a specific incident, which I won't go into now, was the catalyst for his leaving.

Furthermore, just because he isn't posting here right now, you can take it to the bank that he is still pushing USF among other message boards.

Now, this is only my opinion and you can take it for what it is worth.....but, there are 2 types of bullpen posters who need to change their ways.  There are those who look for any reason to argue and those who just log anything in order to increase their post numbers.

If it seems that I am taking umbrage with your post, you may be right, and I am not going to apologize for it.        :)

That was a better way of wording it, but I think you basically echoed what I said.  ;)

To address one of the two groups of ppl well pointed out by Mama_bull. I don't know why it is necessary to make the "# posted" public viewing each time we post. On other message boards I've particpated...many of those with a higher # of posts lord over "newbies" as if their opinions are somehow more valid just because they post 50 times a days. (not much of that attitude here...but it shows up once in a while) ::)

Being someone who is relatively new, it blows my mind that anyone could even have 20,000 or 40,000 postings. 20,000? I mean..that would require you to post 1 time every day for about 55 years. Or if you pair that down to 5 years..that's 11 a day....wow...just wow.  :o Do you really have that much to say EVERYDAY? Do you even remember what sunlight looks like??

Obviously everyone should be allowed to post as many times as they want no matter how inane. But maybe the moderators should consider removing the # of postings indicator on each posting and just leave the "ranking" (scout team, sophmore, administrator, etc) if you feel it is necessary. If we want to see how many times we've posted for ourselves, keep that information available in our profiles or something when we want. Just an idea....

Mama_Bull

I didn't write what I did to start an arguement and was not meant to be disrespectful to Howie or yourself.  I've seen Howie on the other boards and know he talks USF everwhere he can.  For whatever reason, Howie decided that he had enough of this board and chose to leave.  The types of Bullpen poster you refer to won't change their ways.  One either choses to deal with it or choses not to deal with it.

Just so I'm clear, I liked having Howie on here a lot, butI'm not going to beg for him to come back.  As I said before, he's an adult, and as such makes his own decisions.

If it seems that I am taking umbrage with your post, I'm not.  ;)

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
