UCF and USF to renew hoops series

The first game will be in Tampa and then in Orlando the next season.

It would be cool to move the football game to November down the road (It's time for UCF and USF to grow up and not worry about having a game on the same day as the big FSU/UF game...time for the fans to choose!!) and make a weekend out of it.

Anyway - just wanted to pass the news along.  Good luck on the coaching hunt.

And maybe you forgot, but USF did overshadow UF-FSU last year.....it was the same time/day we beat WVU.

I will say that I'm surprised this decision was made before hiring the new coach with so much time left to work on schedules for next year.

I'm not really surprised.  UCF, UAB, and ECU are the 3 closest CUSA opponents, and we owe them 6 games.  Furthermore, by making the UCF game the last required series, it allows us to continue the series afterwords.

I'm actually looking forward to it.  I think we should play a number of in state teams for basketball each year.  Besides, now we don't need to argue over who is better ;-)

This does not need to happen on the same weekend as the football game. USF could win by 45 points in football and lose by 1 in basketball (both of which are entirely possible) and UCiF would consider that a tie, therefore their athletic program and school and city and girls and lives and whatever are just as good as USF's.
