Well with those two posts, we won't see smazza on this thread again.  Don't fret, he'll criticize USF's TV Policy again in another thread.

Chuck and run.

Why did USF Athletics make Brighthouse it's "Official Cable Provider" when Brighthouse doesn't provide good coverage of USF events?

Probably because prior to Brighhouse there was no "Official Cable Provider".

Brighthouse helped finance the Spring Game a couple years ago.  Just because they are a sponsor doesn't mean they have to cover every sport.  Does the St. Pete Times cover every sport to the fans satisfaction?  No - as a matter of fact fans have complained that Greg doesn't do road basketball games or something like that.  When there is a market, it will happen.

Our fans really need to be a little more knowledgeable about the way TV works.

Guys,  USF and/or UCONN had nothing to dop at all with televising this game.  ESPNU had the rights.  The game was not even televised here in CT on the UCONN girls regular channel.  That's highly unusual since the UCONN girls are typically the highest rated of any local programming.  Looks like it was ESPNU or nothing as far as television for this one.

Catch 47 has picked up a ton of games in the last year or so that would have otherwise not been televised. They've covered Men's Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Women's Basketball, Men's Basketball, and Football. If you dont think that's good coverage I'd like for you to give me a better alternative.

Thanks Kyle.  You make valid points.  Between Brighthouse, local ABC, and all the games that have been on national or regional coverage, we continue to have more and more games televised.  I guess some people won't be happy until every single USF athletic event is televised.  We'd be the first in the country with that.  Ladies and gentlemen, live from the Coral, it's the USF Cheerleading practice.

Sorry...I know, no yelling, it does no good.  But when repeated instruction fails what am I to do? (Brad's quote)

Sounds a little like Mac, doesn't it?  Sorry Brad, had to do it!!! ;)   Reaper

That's why we ask questions....and most of the time there's someone here who knows  it all. :)

No not all, but it would be nice if our "Official Cable Provider" could provide   those of us in it's viewing area with coverage of important games like the BE Women's Basketball Championship rather than a documentary about Babe Ruth or whatever it was.
