I buy tickets to every home game; I think that puts my in the top 1% of Alumni.

I think the 1% is correct but it would be the bottom 1%, not top.

I meant alumni...And buying tickets to all the games definitely puts me in the top 1%.

And that's basically all that I said. Others, on both sides, have a lot more invested financially in the program...

Wow, great insight Trip. That applies to everyone except the top donor.

Probably top .5%

BTW, I believe the student fees at USF are $7something an hour.  I thought they were that high at UCF.

It's $10.16 I believe.

Otherwise there is never an incentive to donate more. I basically have to wait for the older alums to give their seats up or die. Why bother donating more??

To help out the university? I do understand where you're coming from but if you can afford it, why not up the donation to help out the programs?

why don't those older alums donate more for the good of the university? It's because they don't have to.

They can make their same donation and continue getting the best seats. No incentive to up the ante.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of older alums/big boosters who give over and above the minimum requirements for whatever seating you're talking about. If they didn't, we'd be in an even worse place financially than we are, relative to other programs in our conference.

I'm sure there are Trip and they would continue to get good tickets basd on their donation levels. This would make those that don't  to up their donation or give up their seats. It's the American way.

I mentioned KU because they play in a small arena like us. They had people willing tickets based on donation levels set decades earlier. How is this fair? What do you say to a new alum that donates multiple times more and gets way worse tickets? They reset tickets based on donation levels and they raised millions more because of it. Not to say USF demand is any where near KU but all the same the higher the donation amount the better your seats.

We don't play in arenas the size of Marquette, Georgetown and many other teams that have plenty of good tickets to go around. We need to give people an incentive to donate more and to do that you need to have the good seats available. Seating should be reset every 5 years based on the amount you donate. As demand rises so do donations.

The only thing I find ODD is when people don't have an opinion on this board or stop debating what they believe to be true or refuse to comment, like they are some politician ::).

Most stop debating because some things just get beat into the ground and the repetitive bs gets tiresome.

Anyone can crucify me for my thoughts, I don't care. It's to be expected, the truth hurts people.

Let's not confuse one's "thoughts" with the "truth".  ;)

I do see where you're coming from and I'm sure that the Athletic office has had discussions just like this in dealing with the situation. A lot of people are grandfathered in at ridiculously low levels. I think if I'd have kept my old bb seats, I could have stayed at donating $100 but my old seats are in a $1000 or possibly higher donor level.

Hopefully, some of those that ARE grandfathered in at a low level do gradually up their donation, as they can afford it, for the good of the university.

Take Rube for instance, a classic case...doesn't know, doesn't care he's wrapped up in his own personal idealism, and obsessive behavior.  Ignorant as all get up, and doesn't care to listen to others.

Now you're a break from the norm it seems.  You appear to be grounded and appreciative of the program and school's capabilities.  Hard to find these days on this website, or others.  It's like some think because UF fans act like that then so should we.

Waaaaaaa!!!  :'(

Ignorant?

Ignorance is 2000 word rants about how Jesus V. was going to take us to the promise land, how Chris H was going to make a huge difference for the program, CRM was going to make the BE tourney, the team was going to be greatly improved this season.

If you've been right in one instance, please let me know.

But here in lies the point of this board...you've got a bunch of kids, and students posting on this board that have never invested a dime, time, or sweat equity into the University.  They don't have a clue, and just demand- like they call the next generation the "Generation of Entitlement".

We're already bad in basketball, football per dollar provides a greater return on invested capital then hoops....we're so close to the cusp of greatness in football so even a dollar taken from football to put towards hoops is shortsided, and crazy.  Furthermore, anyone to suggest such a thing has not spent 25 years cheering for USF athletics as I have, and seen nothing but USF come up short in virtually every sport- and I mean come up short from the pinnacle.  Football, to me, is the one sport that could get us to that mountain top of respectability, and promise.  I think we're possibly two years away from a New Year's Day BCS bowl....we should put all the time, money, and energy into building every aspect of that program to the top.  Once it gets there it will bring the profile of the entire athletic department with it.

Rueb to suggest otherwise doesn't know USF enough, and hasn't been a fan long enough.

No offense, but I don't read your posts anymore.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
