I figured I'd might not get a chance to see it before I left for Arizona, but Derrick Sarosi saw me in the gym and told me I had to see it. He gave me the abbreviated ten minute tour that left me in awe to say the least! The highlight has to be the three whirlpools with treadmills in them. When I say whirlpool, imagine a pool 10 yards long, 5 yards across and four feet deep. Three of them side by side. One has cameras in them so they can monitor an athletes movement on the treadmill! It is awesome!

The first thing I got to see was the football locker room. It still has to be finished, but they have eight tv's as well as couches to lounge in (pass out in) after some intense practices! The have the same lockers from back in the day, but those lockers have always been top notch!

Derrick wouldn't let me look at the gym initially... he wanted to keep me in suspense! What a site when we finally entered it! The 70-yd gym is by far a site to behold! Twelve squat racks with the old Boston Garden parkay floor with the Bulls logo "USF" on each one of them! They have two power sleds to help build strength and speed for our linemen. Every dumbell weight has the Bulls logo on it! The free weights are like what you see in Lifestyles.

Coach Leavitt's office is awesome... Like the God he is becoming of USF football, his football office overlooks the two IM fields that were converted into practice fields. His office is all windows... he deserves each and every one of them!

Even Big Sweat (Coach Frey) got his own office! That's my dog and its about time our assistants are getting treated like first class!

There are a ton of meeting rooms for the players and their position coaches. The chairs are so comfortable, I got a feeling during two-a-days some of our boys will be getting a rude awakening if they dose off.

Phylis Labaw and Cindy finally have a great study hall to mold the minds of our athletes! Their patience paid off as well as they get the super upgrade from working in the recently retired Village.

All in all, I'm happy for many of our staff and coaches that have hung around to see our program push forward in the right direction. We have a facility that will leave recruits in awe!

I'm willing to bet our players will be in better condition this season than last season based on the new equipment that we did not have before hand. They will fine tune themselves because we now have the machines that will hit those muscles that sometimes got neglected due to our lack of resources.

The athletic facility is a work of art! God Bless everyone that had the cash to donate and make it possible! The USF machine has been created... and will only keep growing!

Sounds freakin awesome.   I remember that Leavitt said don't build it unless it is top of the line which it apparently is.  12 squat racks is great so that not as many players are standing around waiting to use them.  Can't wait to take my tour now that it is finished.  I did take a tour late one night with a compadre back during bball season.

I spoke with someone at the athletic department on Friday and they said that there will be an open house sometime in August. It's an impressive building from the outside so I can only imagine what it's going to look like when it is completely finished.

The scary part is that the building was built with the idea of future expansion.

Guest S. Bien

I know some guys with the S&C group.  They were so hyped up to go from 3 Olympic Platforms to 12.  They could finally work an entire group instead of rotating.  It means greater supervision, and better conditioning.  Leavitt loves the Olympic lifts, but I always wonder if that's hindered the health of some of our jumbo athletes since we've had some issues along the line.  Olympic lifting increases explosion, and power but sometimes the jumbo athletes lift so much weight the stress on the joints with Olympic lifts can be difficult.  Especially if proper techique isn't used.

Thanx Sheriff ... and you're right about those that donated and remember that everyone still can.

Above is the list of items and there may still be items from $6 and larger items can be paid over 5 years.

Go BULLS !!!
