UNLV looked like a loss to an average team.....until everyone realized they are good. Same can be said about UAB, which gave Florida all they could handle(tied with 1:05 to play), and eventually lost by 5.

Am I wrong?

The only way bad loses become better is if they become wins in the win column. This program is past moral victories and its sad that fans have accepted mediocrity.

It didn't used to be that way and I am not sure why a BigEast program should hang on "moral victories".

No excuse for a Big East school to lose to a TAMU CC caliber program.

Cyber, i believe his point is at least this season isn't riddled with losses to BCC, and FIU as well.  You can make fun of Missou State and TAMUCC but they'll both probably make the tournament and occurred right as we're getting the new guys acclimated.

This may not be enough for most, but I have said for quite sometime that it's not unrealistic that this team wins 15-16 games this season and then the tough question will be whether that is enough.  He's got the nucleus to do it, and one that's returning a solid foundation next year with possibly yet another transfer in Aaron Holmes added as well.

Do you know it?  What if this team finishes as some expect with 15-16 wins?  Is it such an easy decision then, particularly if we're adding Aaron Holmes too?

Don't be suprised if this team surprises some people.  They're slowly starting to gel, and the potential of adding Gransberry and Verdejo are obvious.  If Howard and Cann make it back by mid-January this could get interesting and then there might be some tough decisions to be made.

You keep refering to RPI's like they carry some enormous weight this early in the season.

Actually, it does. Some teams schedule a bit more aggressively than others do and the RPI and SOS will reflect that. The flip side is looking at UConn's SOS before they played WVU.

While our OOC is not that great, there are a couple, if not a few, teams that will make the NCAA Tournament in March.

We are currently 4 games above mediocrity..... and most aren't "accepting" anything, just saying wait and see how the season plays out.

Nobody is hanging on "moral victories" but when clueless bashers (not you)moan about horrible losses to teams like UNLV, UAB and MSU, they need to be educated about college hoops.

Better BE teams than us have lost to worse teams than we have. It happens. As Bien pointed out, we haven't had the FIU/BCC type losses this year which is, if nothing else, a little encouraging.
