nobody wants to drive to birmingham to see usf play east carolina.

...

Yet they did  ;)

We have a season ticket number of about 16K and nearly a 3rd went to the bowl, would say it was pretty good and expected.

^ do you think it is only season tix holders that go to the bowl games?

I don't, I think a decent amount of Bulls that have moved from Tampa attend the bowl games as well.

As for a BCS game curing all...will it? It will cure it that season but then you will get those who in non BCS bowl yrs will complain it's not a BCS game.

::)

They were saying how could anyone expect USF fans to go to the SPTF to watch the basketball team when we could only get 5,000 fans to go to the bowl game. What horses’ asses they just need to look at the date of the game to see why only 5000 people went.

wasnt that darek sharp? if so, he ALWAYS pumps up usf sports, so i seriously doubt he was knocking us.

besides, facts are facts.

no it was that kid that does the saturday shows about the bucs

Please stop blaming the date of the game.  It is what it is.  We couldn't sell our allotment and there really aren't any excuses for that.

Was it Ron and Ian? They get on my nerves more and more,

You don't listen to Ron and Ian for any serious sports talk outside of bashing the Bucs .... Ian mentioned yesterday he was going to the Forum tonight to watch FSU play Wake Forest. He had no clue it was a doubleheader involving the Bulls...

And for that, I blame USF.

Ian is a prime example of the rest of the tampa sports fans. USF needs to market better. This game was a perfect opportunity to get the south tampa/downtown area excited about USF sports. From Gandy Blvd, the USF campus may as well be in Ocala.

from what it sounded like watching the game on TV, the support for USF was pretty strong, perhaps the early FSU fans rooting for us too?

I lost a lot of respect for Iam when he kept stating that the BIG TEN is so powerful, yet the BIG EAST is on par with the MAC. He did nothing but gave back handed compliment to the BIG EAST this season. What a BIG TEN homer.

I'll give ya that. There were a bunch of times this season where, on that topic, he sounded like Dan Sileo.  ::)

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
