He can't qaulify out of prep school and then doesn't go to any school and suddenly qualifies.

From another site ... what can the experts here tell us.

This could just be a test score issue where he finally got a qualifying score.  If it was a grade issue some eyebrows would be raised if the guy were actually not in any school this past year.

PG Football at Hargrave

Hargrave Post-Graduate (PG) Football program sets the standard for academic and athletic success with aspiring athletes. PG Football players who enroll in Hargrave’s one-year program benefit by: earning higher scores and grades for college acceptance; building a vastly stronger knowledge base and better self-discipline for further success at college; and providing more time for their bodies to develop prior to playing college football.

Hargrave’s PG Football program is a very successful option for most young men. Numerous Hargrave PG players join the ranks of many college programs every year. There is no loss of collegiate eligibility.

Of those graduates, some will play for the National Football League (NFL) following their college departure. Recent NFL players include: Charles Grant (New Orleans Saints), Jon Sullivan (New Orleans Saints), Tory Holt (St. Louis Rams), Soloman Paige (Dallas Cowboys), Tony Scott (New York Jets), Robert Johnson (Atlanta Falcons), Anthony Davis (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Ronald Fields (49ers), Jay Ratliff (Cowboys), and Carlos Rogers (Redskins).

Please check the current schedule to see Hargrave’s lineup of college match-ups.

Academic Objectives of the Program

  Enhance classroom abilities for college

Allow for improvement of SAT and ACT test scores

Improve GPA for Division II and III schools

Teach self-discipline required for college classes

Develop better study habits through mandatory study hall

Individualize programs of study with computers and technology

Athletic Advantages of the Post-Graduate Program

  No loss of collegiate eligibility

Gain exposure to and competition against college programs

Improve technique through use of videotaping

Provide additional year for growth and maturity

Enhance strength and agility in a supervised, monitored program

Allow ineligible seniors to play another season

The Road to the 08' Orange Bowl rolls right through Raymond James Stadium...  I cant wait for the spring game to see what this monster looks like in the GREEN and GOLD.  Louisville and West Virginia better be ready to strap their helmets on next year because clearly they are no longer atop the Big East mountain alone.  To all of you who have friends/family who attend or attended USF but still fly the banner for the Gators, Noles, Canes make sure you let them know now that when we are the top dog in the state we dont want them jumping on the bandwagon... Its now or never, Our program is 10 years old, a bowl champion, in a BCS conference, there is no longer a reason to root for one of the lesser programs in the state.  GO BULLS!!!

He graduated from high school (aka prep school) in Sarasota - Class of 2005....He went to Hargrave Military Academy (aka prep school) ias a Post Graduate Student 2006 and according to the original article has corrected his deficiencies and is eligible for NCAA and admission to USF

After watching some of his videos on scout all i can say is wow.  This kid is the real deal power, speed, cuts, vision.  As long as we give this guy something resembling a hole he will have success.  Also Haulingbull prep school isnt anything out of the ordianary.  The most talented RB in the country (Noel Devine) is prolly gunna go this route and Tory Holt did the same thing before he went to NC State.

I posted this yesterday on the Bullseye message board while the Bullspen was down.  Can anyone find out which is true?

Brett McMurphy says:

"Former Sarasota High running back Mike Ford, who signed with Alabama in 2005 but didn’t qualify,

plans to attend the University of South Florida if he receives NCAA Clearinghouse approval, Bob Perkins, Ford’s high school coach said. Ford played this fall at Hargrave Military Academy. Ford planned to honor his commitment to Alabama, but changed his mind when Mike Shula was fired."

According to the Herald Tribune:

"Ford has been accepted at USF and plans to enroll for the second semester with a football scholarship, his mother, Dondra Walker, said Tuesday. She also said his academics are in order and he has been cleared by the NCAA to play."

The question is HAS HE QUALIFIED OR NOT?

BTW Scout has him listed as a commit to our program.

Didn't our own great Andre Hall go to prep school?

If so, what's the big deal?  Like Andre didn't kick ass when he was here?  Only this guy will have FOUR years?  Sweet!

Like it has been mentioned above, I too am going to wait until everything is settled, but this man would be exactly what we need.

Just imagine if we had had Andre this year... :o

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
