Tom Dallas: Hi Mel. After watching my Horned Frogs dominate NIU last night, would you agree it's one of the better defenses in American? Is Tommy Blake a first-rounder if he declared?

Mel Kiper: (1:19 PM ET ) He's kind of a guy that right now I had in the second round. There's a pretty good group of junior defensive ends. The list is - Jamaal Anderson of Arkansas, Charles Johnson of Georgia, Lawrence Jackson of USC, Jarvis Moss of Florida, Chris Long from Virginia, Bruce Davis of UCLA, Quentin Groves from Auburn, Tommy Blake from TCU, Kenny Iwebia from Iowa, Louis Holmes from Arizona. It's a very good group of junior DEs. He's one of many.

Mel Kiper: (1:20 PM ET ) He could be anywhere from your third highest rated junior DE to your seventh.

JJ needs to learn to dominate games.  Use his athletic ability to the max and do more than make the occasional play.  Both Selvie and Chris Robinson made more plays this year.  That is true even if you look at the last 6.

Agree about that ... and even if he does dominate in 2007, it will be just one year and hurt his value.

Do hope he has a DOMINANT 2007 though 8-)
