if we only sell 12k between both schools....how many locals do you think will show up? heck they don't show up for UAB games....

I will be there and i think it's going to be strange sitting in a huge empty stadium

at least last yr the stadium was packed...even if almost all were in red

Some of you are just delusional in the aspirations for this year's bowl tickets.

1) USF has 16,000 paying season ticket holders.

2) Many of them are corporatly owned

3) Students don't pay for tickets, and student attendance was 4,700 per game this year with unlimited free tix.

4) We averaged less than 30,000 ACTUAL bodies in the stands this year.

5) It is TWO days before the BIGGEST holiday of the year.

NO fanbase be it Iowa, Notre Dame, LSU would get 1/4 their season tickets to go to a minor bowl game. It just doesn't work that way.

Another myth, "It's easily drivable" Yes, it's not THAT far, but it's also not 5-6 hours away. In fact with holiday traffic it might take 10 or so hours.

Finally, I'd say 85% are hardcore and have tried to do everything to get to B-Ham. Many of our fans like the Bulls, buit not enough to spend 400 bucks a person during the Christmas season to watch them play.

It's a reality that will fade over time. For now I think marketing should focus on the students. It's not the short term solution they want. However, with only 4,700 coming to games this year it's not doing much for our season ticket base. I would think a school with USF's makeup should be doing about 8,000 at this point.

I agree while the 4700 hat show up seem to be loud and supportive they need to get 1 more friend each and double that turnout

I think that is where you'll see this fan base grow in the next five years.  Students and graduates will make this a strong crowd for years to come.  We're not there yet, but we'll get there.

Are the 500 students counted in this number??  Answer is probably yes, but had to ask the question.

Yes.

Also included in that 4,400 number is the approx 500 tix used by USF Athletics (football players, staff, coaches, etc..), USF Administration, and friends of the University.

PS. If your Marching Band was going to...those tix would be in the count as well.

Butt out... you don't know sh!t.  We don't run things the way UCF does.

it went down this year over last year. The UF, FAMU, and WVU games drew well for students (for some reason UL wasn't all that great for student attendance)

The numbers were in the paper a week ago, I know a few (4-5)years ago we averaged 5,000. I think it was just the lack of quality opponents this year. Unoftunately a lot of students aren't sold on USF football.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
