Really sad after all the guys put into this season.  We have now decided this is our tradition to go to all the Bowl games as long as they are on the mainlands.

Last year for the Meineke, I bought 3 tickets for me and the family.  This year I bought 16 to improve upon last year so that the USF fan base can compete.  Its absolutely pathetic that my effort is pointless because not enough other people are going above and beyond.  >:(:'( >:(

Your effort is NOT pointless, USF needs all of us die-hards doing all we can to help out. Eventually the rest will catch up but it doesnt happen overnight. You can only build with a strong base. and WE are that base it might be small but we must be strong.

Go Bulls!!!!!

Gotta still support the team.  We'll eventually get better, but it will take a little time.

I think 4,400 is not surprising, nor is it disheartening.

I think that anyone who honestly talked/posted themselves

into believing that we'd move close to 10K was getting a

little bit too much holiday spirt - believing in Santa Claus.

Unfortunately I got stuck with obligations (work & wedding),

or I'd be there. But I'm also gonna be honest with you.

The idea of this close to Christmas, playing EC? in scenic

Birmingham, Alabama...I would view it as an obligation more

than an opportunity. I kicked two tickets into the donation

pool, so at least it's not 3,398, and we all know you're not

going to get every season ticket seat (16K) to account for

one bowl ticket - used or donated.  Our fan base is what it

is. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone (and I hear

it a lot at work) who would really be excited (of itself, not the

obligatory yeah-team line of thinking) about this bowl or the

opponent.

If we had 5K for Charlotte, I think 4.5K for Birmingham is

pretty dang good.  You can't spin this into something it is

not. You're gonna get what you pay for, and at $30/head for

a bowl game - it's basically just one more road trip. :-*

I'm wondering if the fans on this board or the fans who are not would consider a two-star recruiting class that is only say 15 players, when they wanted 25 players...........or the team has a 6-6 season would say "it is what it is"  and that its "pretty dang good".  No personal offense here but it isn't "pretty dang good". it's pretty **** poor.

Anybody know how many seats we sold for the signed tickets last year??? I am kind of wondering why the Athletics folks have not done the same this year.  Last year I bought seats, this year I am actually going, WE need to get that number up to 5000 if possible.

Are there still students on the board that need tickets?

I agree Wooly.  I was thinking somewhere in the 6200 range, so we're not really off by much in my estimation.  You can't get blood out of a stone, and you can't count on 10,000 tickets when we're just not there yet as a fan base.

Are the 500 students counted in this number??  Answer is probably yes, but had to ask the question.

The real acid test for your program will be when you do make it to a "real" bowl game, whether it's a BCS game or the Gator.  Little Wake Forest is about to sell out their 17,500 ticket alotment for the Orange Bowl.   They only have 55,000 LIVING alumni.  That's when USF will come under scrutiny from the BE and the rest of college football.  Until then, just sell as many as you can and try and build that fanbase up.  I'm also disappointed we'll only have 6-7k there.  We could have actually made a statement at this game in the stands.

Yes.

Also included in that 4,400 number is the approx 500 tix used by USF Athletics (football players, staff, coaches, etc..), USF Administration, and friends of the University.

PS. If your Marching Band was going to...those tix would be in the count as well.

I thought Wake had around 100 K living alumni.  Either way its a great thing for them.
