We serve beer at our on-campus basketball arena as well, so it isn't just due to the fact that we play off-campus.

Technically, the Sun Dome is it's own entity, not truly affiliated with the university, yet it located on campus.

I'm aware of that, since I used to sit on its board.  However, it didn't used to sell beer at bball games, and that was because of Athletics.  Athletics finally allowed the change to occur.

Baloney! The Sundome and the property are it sits on are owned by the University of South Florida.

The Sundome physical facility is owned by USF but it is managed by Sun Dome, Inc. which also manages some other USF facilities.  Thus, they choose the caterers.

Exactly correct.  Sun Dome Inc is a not-for-profit 501©(3) entity that supports the University.

The Sun Dome is managed by a company created by the university to insulate them from future liability. Thus, to say the Sun Dome is "independent" is a true statement in its nature but not in practice. The university put in place all the individuals who make every decision regarding the facility.

It's kind of like the Commissioner of Major League Baseball. He can make any decision he wants, by definition, but as he is appointed (and can be removed) by the joint owners he really stands to act at their behest.

Budweiser being a sponsor has zero effect on beer sales. "Budweiser is a proud supporter of Ohio Bobcat athletics" yet you will not see alcohol served at an OU basketball or football game, most likely, ever.

Wow, you guys are LUCKY!!!  Beer at every home game?????  Playing in a rented off-campus stadium kicks ASS!!!!  I am truly jealous.

And there better be beer in B-ham.  Helps with a loss and makes a win even more enjoyable.

It may well be a state law thing...I believe that Cincy sell suds too.

is it really that big an issue? Can you go without beer for a couple of hours?

bring some small liquor bottles or a flask if you are so worried about it.
