USF FOOTBALL GAME 5 PREVIEW:

USF vs. Southern Miss

Saturday October 2, 2004  Time 7:00

Raymond James Stadium

SERIES HISTORY:  Although these schools will be parting ways after this season (Bulls to Big East, Southern Miss remaining in C-USA) there's no doubt this is one of the great rivalries in the history of USF Football.  Southern Miss has won both games in Hattiesburg (2000 and 2003), while the Bulls responded with a last second win in Raymond James Stadium in 2002.  This is the final game scheduled between these two teams for now.

ABOUT SOUTHERN MISS:   2004 will mark the 88th year of football at Southern Miss.  They've made it to post season 13 times, starting with the Sun Bowl in 1952 and most recently with the Liberty Bowl in 2003.  Their best known players in the NFL include Brett Favre and former first round draft pick punter Ray Guy.  Head Coach Jeff Bower has been at the helm for 13 seasons, with a career record of 89-62-1 (the 89 wins are second best in Southern Miss history).

Eagles could be 0-4 or  1-3 after playing in RJS.  Hattiesburg will be having a total melt down.  Don't think I can shed a tear for 'em either.
