Pep rally?

I just like the idea of a more centrally organized bowl event on Friday night. The $100 is also a bit steep, as my wife, my father, and I barely drink. I think in future years USF should consider having a reduced price option for those that do not wish to drink.

Monday I'll be talking to the Legion field parking manager about their plans for group rates on parking. I'll ley everyone know.

I just checked the Car Care bowl site.  They are doing a street festival and pep rally the night before just like last year.  Birmingham is really dropping the ball here.  Did they speak with any other bowl reps to get ideas for fans?  The only place that is getting publicity out of this is Dreamland.

So far, the PapaJohns.com Bowl is doing a SORRY job.  Do they even WANT to have a bowl game next year???   :-?

If you check the email I posted from Bo Kerr with eSPN, he claims to have consulted with the Meieke Car Care Bowl planners regarding the PEP Rally. I just can't wrap my head around their decision, but alas I am not on the Bowl Committee, so what do I know....other than what the fans want.  :-/

It is obvious that this Bowl was created by ESPN as another TV game for their network, thus the reality is that they couldnt careless what happens other than the game. Now the City of Bham should have picked up the ball to have activities that would encourage people to come and stay in Bham. As it is most of us are coming in going to game n taking off.

A lot of this depends on the available $ to get things done.

It could be that Papa Johns budget/influence/structure is not

quite the same as Meineke. Or it could be that $X is all that

Papa John's is going to allocate toward this function. For them

it's a commercial. It could be that this is their only year to

sponsor the 'Birmingham Bowl'?

Dollars could be the issue.  Either way it stinks for the fans.  If you go to the papajohnsbowl.com site it looks rinky dink compared to any of the other bowl games.  Compare it to the outbackbowl.com site.  Then you really sense that Birmingham is just along for the ride.  It doesn't even show a calender of events.  Very disappointing.

I hate that rule man I wish it wasnt in Alabama  LOL!!! I dont know as I can do that I mean with 10,000 people going to be at the game....  LOL I hope there is that many there, but I will be glad to give everyone a drink, just meet me at the closest water fountian and I will push the button  LOL!!!
