Anybody staying at the team hotel?  If so maybe we can get a cab load from there.  If so, I would say add 2 more.

Question,

UABinBHM rattled off several BBQ places and Dreamland he said was his least recommended.  So why is this the choice?  (not complaining as I know nothing about Alerbamer.)  Everyone seems to want to go to five points, Dreamland isn't anywhere near it, so just wondering?

Well... I'm sure yall will enjoy Dreamland just fine... just not so much my favorite BBQ place.  People in Birmingham are kind of like Memphis and other places as far as their particular favorite.  Birmingham BBQ is quite underrated if you ask me.  UAB and Memphis have a BBQ contest at every UAB-Memphis football game (both professional and amateur), and UAB won the last one (both amateur and professional divisions).  Everyone knows Memphis BBQ, but Birmingham has got their own flavor.  Dreamland gets alot of name recognition for their location in Tuscaloosa and its connection to Alabama football as one of their big sponsors.  

But some of my favorite places locally for BBQ are:  Top Hat, Jim 'N Nicks, Carlisles, Full Moon, and Jim Deermans.  All of those except Top Hat have Southside locations... Jim 'N Nicks is the only one in 5 Points, however.  I don't think you guys will be disappointed in any of these locations (including Dreamland).  

There are so many good places to eat in Birmingham and just so few days that you all will be here.  Birmingham is actually considered the "Culinary Capital" for this region of the country.  Yes, hard to believe I know... blows alot of those stereotypes about trailerparks and pickup trucks right out of the water.
