seriously, under 5,000 students a game?? that is pathetic

If the students won't even support the team when they can go for free, what makes you think outsiders are going to pay to watch the team?

I don't know.  I went to two USF games in Tampa this year (Uconn and Pitt) and the student section looked a lot bigger than 2005 and definitely bigger than your last football season at USF (2004).

Bear in mind that we had a down year in 2004

here is a shot of the student section in the background of the ECU game in 2004

And does anybody have an explanation for the 3,143 "non-revenue" season tickets?

3 of them are mine.

I am not (YET!) a Bulls Club member -- meaning I bought my season tickets without making a donation to USF.  I plan on starting my donation to the Bulls Club starting in 2007 ... but I might keep or expand three seats in the "non-revenue" section.

Those a revenue producing tickets.....not freebees....donations and ticket revenue are not the same animal.

Makes sense for non-revenue to be freebies... hence my earlier post:

I don't think so... but I could be wrong.  3000+ is a heck of a lot of tickets for family members of 105 players (3 each?).

:-)

I would like to see the actual attendance numbers for the past few seasons, rather than these teasers Brett provides us with.  Seeing the numbers game by game might give us some insight as to which games draw well, which do not, etc.

If you were there..it would be quite obvious to you.

BTW the game by game figure for this year were posted here on another thread.

Those aren't the actual attendance figures(TSA)...those are tickets sold as reported by USF.

Also...we didn't play UCONN at home in 2005....that 45K was for West Virginia.

Not sure where to get "actual attendance" numbers.  Brett probably got them from the Tampa Sports Authority.

I'm having a hard time with those student numbers, I have to think nearly a 40% decrease in student attedance would have been extremely noticeable, yet everyone one here has been cheering the student section as the one section we could count on to show up.

I'm having a hard time accepting those numbers (the rest of the stadium did seem down this year though)
