Generally I agree that Gator fans are beyond obnoxious (USF has some too).  However, when we played Pitt, several of us were forced to watch from the Wnnners at Tampa Palms (prior commitments - yes I have season tickets).  Amazingly we were on the big TV and the Gator game on the smaller sets.  Several gator fans around us started watching parts of our game and cheered when we did well.  A small thing, but getting noticed is always good.

they look down on USF students because they truly believe they are better because they go to UF...

fact is: my girlfriend was valedictorian of her high school class, had free rides to miami and UF, and choose to go to USF (she made this decision way before i had even made up my mind on where i wanted to go).

I was raised a Gator for all my life. I'll admit, I was the typical Gator fan with the "we are better than thou" attitude.

The Orange and Blue glasses came off my senior year of high school. I had wanted to go to UF and got accepted there. When I went to go for a college visit, they were all @$$#073$.

USF: What can we do for you to get you ready for life and make college great?

UF: What are you going to do great here at Florida?

I went to their honors college just to see what theirs was like compared to USF's. I told them my GPA was a 3.8 in highschool. They wouldn't even talk to me if it wasn't a 4.0.

My mother is a UF alumni from back in the 70s. She actually said she was ashamed of what Florida had become.

I lived in Nashville TN, for a year. I have family in Bama. I know the SEC type. Hell my Granddad coached the recently retired head of the SEC officiating crew **** Burleson. If GOD created arrogant, smug, holier-than-thou SOB's than ya, thats his work.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the history and tradition of some of these teams. I understand the strength of this conference, but don't pull the "sky is blue and the sun is orange so that prooves god is a gator" ********.
