Bill Gramatica a Giant

Consider the source-- the Arizona Cardinals. What a bastion of football knowledge they have in that prestigious NFL organization. Billy was an above average kicker who had an injury last season. By the time he was ready to come back, the Cardinals decided to stay with the replacement. Nothing too earth shattering there. It was Bill's second year and knowing that the Cardinals are notoriously CHEAP, they don't want to pay a kicker the league minimums for a 3rd year player that Bill would be classified as. That assumes he signed for the league minimum to start with-- which, as a 4th round pick (and a kicker) might not be the case.

The stigma of that goofy injury in his rookie season still has clung to him as well-- even his own AZ fans won't let that one die. Was that fair? Somewhat.

Is he going to do better in NY? Maybe, maybe not-- it really comes down to the Giants giving him a legitimate shot at it IMO. Is he still worthy of playing in the NFL? Sure-- with kickers it all comes down to productivity. I can't blame a team for going a different direction--

Bill is a sad NFL kicker.  Matt Bryant, when healthy is a very accurate kicker.  As a Giant fan, I would not want Bill as their kicker.

You know, some players don't play well on certain teams.  As a Giant fan, I'm sure you remember Tyrone Wheatley.  Sucked on the Giants, and became a star at Oakland.  I'm a Giants fan also, and I'm proud of getting Grammatica!  (Now I just hope he stays healthy)
