No one will buy out JoePa's contract.  He'll 'resign' after being strongly advised to privately.  Either that, or they'll do what they do at F$U, which basically is have strong assistants do the coaching and keep B. Bowden around just to recruit, whittle on top of the scissor lift during practice and pace the sidelines during games.

Well Knight light, whether kicking someone while they are down makes me feel bad or not depends on how they acted while they weren't.  JoePa has done so many great things for football, and he's one of my favorite all time coaches.

Anyone here know that when his team went undefeated and they didnt win the NC that he BOUGHT his team rings with his own money and said: "you played like champions every game, you deserve these"

It is sad to see his legacy coming to an end.  Bowden was a lil more co cky, so i wouldnt mind beating him at his end, but he's not really a bad guy either.

RTB...you need to rethink your post.  JoePa will only "retire" not "resign".

Yes, 'retire' would be better.  Regardless, it will appear to be on his terms and not 'asked to resign' or 'fired'.  He's done too much for that program for that.

I think it is pretty SOP to sign old "legend" coaches to a new five year contract so that they can show recruits that they plan on being there throughout their college years.

He's getting on in his years, hopefully he doesn't resign to the next level...

Supposedly, Joe Paterno's son Jay will succeed him. So it is pretty safe to say that "Paterno" will be there.

WHY?

Kraky thought that PSU would offer him, but they didn't, so he has something to prove to them.
