We just want the BEST for USF

It's hard to know how things will turn out with our new AD. While hoping for the best with USF's future, you can't blame those of us who wanted more.

Do we know what 'more' means? Maybe and maybe not.

I think USF Athletics will be okay, no matter what. But some of us just wanted an AD with bells and whistles, one that could push our program over the top in the Big East.

The school is trying to shake that commuter school image and we really need someone to shake and bake (among other needs)...

Can AD Woolard do it? Who knows... I'm pulling for him to be the best we've ever had.

But the box still says "Payless Kangaroos!"

i was looking for upside potential

the heavy lifting is done we are in the BCS BE

now can we be competitive in most sports?

will we realize the potential that we have?

or will we be a rutgers?

will we get to and stay on the national stage?

the new AD will hav a lot to say about that

The best thing our new AD can do is figure out how to increase our athletic budget and still be profitable.  I think USF's budget is about 1/4 what the other big east schools operate with.  Someone told me the other day Ohio St. has an atheltic budget of like $90 mil.  Holy crap!

i support coach mac, no question i believe he is the man for the job at hand.

first, my gripe was not with one ad candidate or the other, i thought with the "buzz" that was talked about we would get someone that blew our collective socks off. that did not happen so i was dissapointed.

second, it appeared that there was some back room dealing when the 11th hour finalist candidate got the job, the facts seem to be he was the second choice and only got the job after the first choice withdrew.

in that senerio i have no objections and will put my full support  behind our new AD. (without all the facts i made some assumptions that turn out to be inaccurate)

third, i have said in almost every post i wish the new ad well. he is taking charge of a program i hold dear and success is the only option.

go bulls!

The fact is that Woolard was not the second choice at the end.  Olver's background eliminated him, making Woolard our first choice.  It's not as if we would have taken Oliver had he not bowed out because of what was discovered in his past.

That's my understanding.  But we would have rescinded after finding out about his past.  He saved us the trouble by bowing out.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
