Positives

1) A strong leader with a great deal of experience, a hands-on leader.

2) Has had AD experience in a major program with a large budget, and did it successfully.

3) Has been on the NCAA committee and an AD for 8 1/2 years, so that may give us some much-needed NCAA connections.

Negatives

1) He jumped ship when there was a scandal -he was bigger than the program because he didn't want to serve under someone who was lower-ranked. Wasn't the scandal more important than his pride? (Just my opinion!)

2) He doesn't sound like he's got money connections in his reply to the buget question:

...You've got to explain the negatives of not [increasing fundraising] and the positives of having more resources. The student-athletes and coaches will be involved. The soccer coach can express what's needed to alumni and donors in a very tangible way...

Like all this time everybody has been sitting around at USF and hasn't been trying to get more funding...  

3) He prides himself on 'making the tough decision' with hiring and firing... Great: We are not in a war at USF (tantamount to sending someone to die, I suppose). A leader is supposed to hire and let people go if needed be. You are FIRED! --Wait, does the Donald have that copyrighted?

Out of 10 points, I give him a 7.5. If a strong leader is what we have to choose from, USF Athletics would be fine under him. But if something goes bad, he will probably bail on us! And don't expect coporate America to come knocking and carrying bags of money because he's our AD.
