What's more important, into C-USA or into Big East

We were pretty thrilled way back when to move into C-USA from the old Metro, if I remember correctly.

It was pretty big back then, like a kid getting his first bike.

Now, the Big East is on the horizon. As important as the Big East is now, I feel that moving into C-USA was what the doctor ordered. Basketball really solidified us, which then jump-started football.

Had we been stuck in the Sun Belt (or whatever it was), maybe football would have never happened  ---and hence no big East.

Think about it! No football and in the Sun Belt, and now we are heading into the Big East!

I'd say CUSA...

Without full CUSA Membership (SFU did get screwed when CUSA officials "delayed" SFU's Football Membership for 2 years...no reason why...and Commish Slive lost a chance to already have a CUSA Champ Game in place...just plain stupid!), SFU wouldn't have their Big East invite.

Just like how CUSA will be UCF's 1st Conf for ALL our sports...just like CUSA was for ya'll in '02.

One usually can't go from A to C...without a short stop at B.

Big East for the obvious reason of TV REVENUE which will help all sports.

It also propels us into the national limelight like nothing else.

The C-USA invite. Because without it, we would never have gotten the Big East invite.

C-USA is like a kid getting his first new bike

The Big East is like a kid getting his first new car.

I had to respond because its so infrequent to read an intelligible, and cogent response to something USF from Knight Light, and to boot something that I agree with.  Of course he was able to get his UCF reference into his response. ;D

Seriously, KL put it best with you typically can't go from A to C without passing B.  No way we even get sniffed by the Big East without being in C-USA.  Being in C-USA forced us to have a strong athletic budget, incentivized us to add football, it gave us a national stage for ALL of our sports to perform and thrive.  Quite clearly C-USA.

For that matter the move to the Metro, which was the precursor to our jump to C-USA, was probably equally as important because it teamed us with many of our future C-USA brethren allowing us to forge long lasting rivalries, contacts, and bonds.  Many critical moves were made in the 80's by USF for drastic jumps in 00's.
