Sun Dome scoreboards

Anybody know of any new developments in the ongoing saga of the decrepit Sun Dome scoreboards? Last thing I heard was that the beverage contract had to be in place for this to move forward.

There was also supposed to be some major upgrades inside the Dome and USF was looking to sell the naming rights. That was announced even before USF was known to be going to the BE, so it should be easier to sell now.

the baseball field did recieve a scoreboard "upgrade"... they put up something that can show graphics... VERY small, but it's a start...

The Sundome is a joke.  They don't even replace bulbs in the scoreboard anymore so if you look that may be a 6 errr no maybe an 8  errrrrrrr .  The seating is terrible.  20 year old plastic seats that are all cracked and pinch your butt half the time when you sit on them.  The food is bad but I am getting used to year old popcorn.  Problem is that no shows up to watch the games so I guess that is a good enough reason not to upgrade.

Somebody was saying that the reason they didn't do ticket give-aways is because they would have to hire more support staff to handle the extra crowd. This the dumbest thing I've ever heard of - I can't understand why you would want to discourage more people from showing up.

SunDome is over 20 years old.it needs major renovations to seats and scoreboards at the very least. Hopefully whoever comes in as AD starts a major push for facility upgrades before we head into BE. While i dont expect them done by 05. i do expect to see a master plan with timetables for the upgrades

when i went to sundome i noticed wood floors which I found that  unusual

if the basketball team improves the rest will take care of itself.

Is a renovation reallly needed?
