dabull80, so you know the language of "spin" huh?  You hit it z'actly on the nose.  They have QB & OL issues.  There are good chances this game is an L for the Panthers.  A loss to nonBCS, 8 season football team is a no-no for a former national champ.

Harris' job is on the line this season, with some saying only a bowl win will keep the wolves at bay.

Ohio will be a tough opener for them and they want to be sure that they make the adjustments they need after their loss to us.

The really amazing thing is USF has never lost to Pitt in football or basketball.  You think they feel they are jinxed against us ?  Yup, think about it Bulldoug, as you said Pitt has OL & QB issues and now they face an opener on the road with a team that is quickly getting a reputation for "D" and excellant linebackers.  If I where them I would try to get the game moved to the end of the season.

Pitt didnt do us any favors. Pitt helped you attend the game with their decision. That surely doesnt help the Bulls.

National T.V. exposure helps the Bulls a LOT more than Steve Mazza crying to his secrataries about answering machine messages does.

Pitt doesn't want to get spanked on national television by a team no one has ever heard of.  I would guess that's 75% of the reason and 4 days to prepare for Ohio is the other 25%.
