A good example of a "little" big guy is Elton Brand. I think he was listed at 6-8 when he was at Duke. An impact player from day one, an immovable force who could score at will from the post. Not trying to compare 6-5 with 6-8, because there's a world of difference there. 6-5 is small forward size at the high-major level. 6-5 at PF or C would just create constant matchup problems and anybody a few inches taller with any kind of shotmaking ability would eat him alive, I don't care what kind of body he has.

I will withold my "what was the coach thinking" comments until later...

we want leaders people who want to come here and contribute

if he does not want to come then he is better off where he is going

i would rather have half a man standing twice as tall, than a tall man that never stands straight up

in college "effort" with some talent will win you many games ask georgia tech about their run in the ncaa they beat several teams that had better talent (talent without direction will not win you championships)

a few talent short teams that won big come to mind-

danny manning's team

glenn robinson's team

the michigan state team with marteen cleeves a few years back

none of these teams had the "most" talent in the field but they were still very succesful.

okafor is 6'10.

Okafor is not 6'10".  His own media guide lists him at 6'9" which means he's closer to 6'7", MAYBE 6'8".  The announcers during the FF even alluded to the fact that he wasn't near the 6'9" he's listed at.  Auburn lists Charles Barkley at 6'6", and he's barely 6'5", if that.  Short PF always are granted an extra inch or so in media guides and the press in general.

If you guys are worried about height just think Frediricco Peruzo.  Now there was height but he didn't last long at USF.

I don't care if this guy IS 6'5".....if he does shatter a backboard as his coach alluded to, I'm going to put him on the All-USF team.

I remember Chonsey Asbury cracking a rim in the sun dome during pregame warmups one year.  Delayed the start of the game for a while for bringing out a backup goal.

Don't forget to leave some money by the bedside after you depart.  Jeez, this is ridiculous, all of a sudden Mobley is 10ft tall, and has fire coming out of his arse.

Check FSU's second recruiting class under Hamilton, check Depaul's under Leito....

This class...doesn't bring anything markedly better than what we already have, and remember what we already have struggled to go 7-22.  Sorry, this class is just servicable, next year we better land some serious heat in the early signing period and become much better or CRM will be on the hot seat as the new AD tries to bring in his man for a key sport.  We all know it will be hands off the football program, but if CRM continues on this course the new AD will have all the ammunition to make a switch.

Okafor was a legit 6-9, they use to list him at 6-10 the previous year but dropped it because Okafor wanted to be straight heading into the NBA.  You did see him standing next to Coach Calhoun who is 6-5!

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
